  • If you have downloaded a trial version of our software we will send you an email containing your 30 day trial key, and we may send you further emails to provide information about your trial. You will be able to opt out of these further emails if desired.
  • We use the services of third party organizations to assist us in operating our business. It is sometimes necessary to transfer your personal information to the third party in order to do this. These third parties are:

    • Bright Market LLC, dba FastSpring Limited

How long we hold your personal information for

  • If you request that we remove your personal information from our systems, we will do so within 1 month of your request being received.
  • We will remove your personal information from our systems within 2 years of the latest occurrence of any of the following events:
    • You cease to be associated with a paid shinobi license.
    • You submit a form on our website.
    • You contact us by email with a request for support.
    • You respond to one of our emails.

First-party (shinobicontrols) cookies

This website will set some cookies that are essential for the website to operate correctly. These cookies, are as follows:

  • PHPSESSID:  this cookie is used on to identify your website session and is strictly necessary to enable logins to the support website.
  • cb-enabled: this relates to our cookie permissions bar: it is set once you accept cookies, so that the cookie bar is no longer shown. It does not contain any personally identifiable information.
  • trialFormEmail, trialFormSubmit: if you submit the trial form, these cookies temporarily store your email address and the required platform, in order to fulfil the trial download. The data is deleted from the cookies as soon as the download starts. The cookies use the Secure and SameSite attributes to prevent the data being sent in plain text or used by any other website. They are strictly necessary in order for the trial download to work.
  • _ga_gid_gat_gac_<property_id>_gat_gtag_<property_id>: These are set by Google Analytics, which we use to collect data about website usage. This data does not include personally identifiable information. Google provides its own information on safeguarding your data, including how to opt out. Note that we use IP masking so your full IP address is not sent to Google Analytics.

Third-party cookies

Our websites will set several types of third-party cookie, and we do not control the operation of any of them. The third-party cookies which may be set include:

  • IDE and NID: These are set by Google. IDE is set by Google because we have an AdWords account linked to our Google Analytics account. NID is a Google preferences cookie. See here for more details.
  • __cfduid: This is set by HubSpot, who provide the trial and contact forms on our website and host pages on It is strictly necessary in order for the forms to work.
  • Cookies on these cookies are set by YouTube on pages in which we have embedded YouTube videos.
